Gator Tales - June 5th

This edition of Gator Tales has a lot of information. Please make sure to read through it in its entirety!

The Gators gave it their all on Saturday in a hard-fought meet against the Marlins. While the win went to the Marlins this time, our swimmers showed incredible effort, team spirit, and sportsmanship throughout the competition. We're proud of every Gator who hit the water! A huge thank-you to all our volunteers who helped make the meet run smoothly—your support keeps our team strong and thriving! We are looking forward to a great meet against the Kingfish on Saturday.

Coaches Appreciation Week

We would love to celebrate and show appreciation for our Gator coaches as we begin to wrap up the season! If you’d like to contribute breakfast or snacks for them next week, you can sign up here.

Let’s go, Gators—Chomp Chomp!

Trailwood Gators vs. Kings River Kingfish - Saturday, June 7

Kings River Pool- 6775 Kings River Dr.

Circle In: 7:00am (Kirsch tent)

Warm Ups: 7:45-8:15

Meet Begins: 8:30

Reminders for Saturday:

  • Circle In-All swimmers must check in with the coaches at the Kirsch tent as soon as you arrive at the meet, no later than 7:15 this week. Swimmers will circle in at Kirsch tent. Swimmers who do not circle in will be scratched from the meet and relays.
  • If plans change and you cannot make it to the meet or if you are running late on the morning of the meet, please text Robbie Morrow at (281) 468-3908 by 7:25am.
  • Warm ups will be by age group youngest to oldest and move very quickly, so listen and be ready!
  • Check the posted list and SwimTopia to get your swimmer’s event numbers and listen for when the events are called to the ready bench.
  • Volunteers will check in with Reagan Henderson at the Kirsch tent when you arrive at the meet.
  • Let a coach know if a swimmer will be leaving before they have completed all events.

Visitors Tents/Canopies:

Tent set up for visitors is on the back side of the pool house and may not be set up in the kiddie pool area inside the fence. Tent set up is not allowed the night before. Home team sets up in the parking lot and just southwest of the pool. Area two is where a volleyball court used to be. Large sandy area, I would highly recommend a tarp under your canopy if you utilize this area. The acoustics for announcements are less audible in area 2.

Drop Off Zone:

There will be Drop Off/Pick-up zones located on Kings River Dr. directly in front of the pool.

Parking:

Parking is recommended up and down Kings River Dr. There are a couple of residential areas that are cul-de-sac near the pool. We ask our home and visiting parents to not park in these side streets as it severely restricts ingress/egress to these residential areas.

Volunteering - We Need You!

Volunteer Sign Ups:

Volunteer sign ups for this meet are still open! There are still several open positions available for Saturday. We would really appreciate having volunteers step up and fill these openings if your family plans to be at the meet. These meets cannot run without all of our parent volunteers contributing! If you are unable to fulfill your sign-up please remove your sign up so another family can sign up. Remember, each family is responsible for 7 shifts throughout the season. By registering your swimmer, you agreed to a financial penalty if volunteer requirements are not met. Please email Reagan Henderson at [email protected] or text at (713) 724-2472 if you have any questions about volunteering.

NEWS: Families who complete more than their 7 shifts during the season will receive extra raffle tickets at our awards banquet!

Chomp Talk: A Message from the Coaches

Get ready for a splashy showdown as the Gators take on the Kings River Kingfish in the final dual meet of the summer! The Gators are bringing power and grit! It’s all about fun, team spirit, and who will rule the pool. Let the battle begin!

Don’t forget to bring water bottles to practice. It is getting hot, even early in the morning. Be sure to talk to the coaches before and after your races at the meet. Listen for your events being called. Take time to stretch to help your muscles to swim fast!
