Trailwood Gator Volunteers
Gator Families,
The Trailwood Gators have been a successful swim team in our community for over 50 years, and a big part of that success is the incredible support from our volunteers. From our dedicated Gator Board, who serve year-round, to the families who step up each week at meets, it truly takes a team effort to make our season possible.
As we prepare to kick off the 2026 season, we want to emphasize how important volunteer participation is. While committing to a shift at each meet may feel like a lot, please remember that our meets simply cannot run without everyone pitching in. During registration, families agreed to fulfill volunteer requirements or be subject to a $500 fee at the end of the season if those obligations are not met.
In past seasons, we’ve sometimes had to repeatedly ask for volunteers, with the same families stepping in each time. We ask that all families plan ahead and sign up early. If you anticipate difficulty meeting your volunteer commitment, please reach out to our Volunteer Coordinator, Jason Burnett ([email protected]), so we can help find a solution.
Volunteer sign-ups for each meet will open at 7:00 PM on Sunday evenings the week prior to the meet. In addition to meet-day roles, we have several season-long opportunities available:
Swamp Crew: We are looking for two additional volunteers to join Jason L’Esperance. This team handles setup and cleanup for our four home meets. This role fulfills your family’s volunteer requirement for the season.
Contact: Jason L’Esperance at [email protected]
Ready Bench: Our experienced Ready Bench team is looking to train at least one new parent. This is a key role in keeping our meets running efficiently. Depending on interest, this position may fulfill your volunteer requirement.

Events Support: Heather Simmons, our Events Coordinator, is seeking help planning and running team events such as pep rallies, Breakfast of Chompions, and the end-of-season banquet. This role fulfills your volunteer requirement.

Flag Crew: Support our flag fundraiser throughout the year. Nathan Dockray has previously shared details about this opportunity.

If you’re interested in getting even more involved, we are always looking for new board members each season. Feel free to ask questions or connect with any current board member to learn more.
Thank you in advance for helping make this another great season for the Gators—we truly couldn’t do it without you!
Chomp Chomp!
