GATORS GIVING WEEK:

The Trailwood Gators are excited to launch something new this season and make waves beyond the pool!

The week of May 25, we will celebrate our first annual Gators Giving Week, a special week dedicated to supporting our community and each other. During the week, we will officially launch donations for the Bryan Pickett Gator Scholarship Fund while also collecting food donations for the Society of St. Stephen Food Pantry.

We are proud to introduce the Bryan Pickett Gator Scholarship Fund, created to reflect what being a Gator is all about: supporting one another, lifting each other up, and making sure every child has the opportunity to be part of our team. This scholarship fund will help cover registration fees for families who may need extra support in future seasons so that no swimmer misses out on the fun, friendships, and memories that come with being a Gator.

Our hope is to grow this fund year after year with the support of our incredible Gator community. Whether through donations, fundraising efforts, or simply spreading the word, every contribution helps us build a stronger, more inclusive team full of heart. More information about how families can benefit from this fund will be shared as we get ready for registrations next season.

We are honored to name this scholarship fund after Bryan Pickett, the uncle of Gator swimmer Avery Dockray. Bryan was a lifelong swimmer who began swimming as a child with the Terra Nova Big Blue swim team before continuing with Klein High School and later Texas A&M University. In fact, he once competed against the Trailwood Gators, and even set a few records along the way! Swimming remained an important part of Bryan’s life into adulthood, and he deeply appreciated the positive impact it had on both his physical and mental well-being.

Bryan passed away far too soon, but his family believes he would be incredibly honored to know that this scholarship will help future children experience the joy and community of neighborhood swim team just as he did.

Throughout Gators Giving Week, we will also be collecting food donations for the Society of St. Stephen Food Pantry, because giving back is what Gators do best. During practices the week of May 25, collection bins will be available for specific needed pantry items.

  • Peanut Butter
  • Mac n Cheese
  • Cereal
  • Canned tuna / chicken
  • Canned ravioli or spaghetti and meatballs

If you would like to contribute to the Bryan Pickett Gator Scholarship Fund, donations can be made through the shop section of our website in $5 increments or via Zelle ([email protected]). Please include “Scholarship Fund” in the memo line.

Thank you for helping us make a difference both in and out of the pool. Let’s come together and make a splash that truly matters!
