Invitational Entries and Notes

All,

Please see attached entries for All Stars and Ponderosa showing individual swimmer's events and then the relays for the meets. The coaches have all been emailed this same information. We should have the meet warm up schedule sometime on Wed. along with volunteer timing requirements and will send an update once received.

A few notes about the relays - Some of this is different from previous years!

Relays-

All Stars:

There is no medley relay at this meet - only free relay

The age groups are funky so that it allows teams to put together relays.
- For example: Sunday - there is a 11-12 relay, a 11-14 relay and a 11-18 relay. It's not a progressive though...

If swimmer doesn't have an official time in event they cannot swim (time trial time does not count)

You can change out relay swimmers only if the new swimmer is already entered in meet. If swimmer isn't entered in meet they cannot swim on relay

Ponderosa:

Progressive relays - both medley and free - (We did not enter a Male Progressive relay due to the younger ones swimming fly at All Stars on Sunday. If you think you can pull one together we can enter a relay late just let us know).

Medley - 11/12 - (50Y back), 13/14 (50Y Breast), 15-18 (50Y Fly), 9/10 - (25y Free), 8 & Under (25Y Free)
Free - 8 & Under (25Y), 9/10 (25Y), 11/12 (50Y), 13/14 (50Y) and 15-18 (50Y)

Relays do not show correctly in system. The systems do not handle 5 swimmers on relay.
- It shows 4 swimmers and alternate swimmer.
- The last swimmer does not show up on many of the reports and results.

Relays in General:

Need to ask and confirm all swimmers in these events especially if they are coming from All Stars. If they have events at All Stars please confirm the swimmers/parents understand they may miss their events at All Stars for relays. If they do not want to swim - you can find another swimmer and ask them if they would like to be on relay.

Anyone can swim the relays - they do not need to be entered in meet

Communication is key! Please communicate with the coaches, swimmers and parents on the relays at Ponderosa as the logistics of going to both pools to swim events is tough! My suggestion is that you talk to some of the parents and see if one is willing to be a point person the day of the race. (one at each pool) For instance you will need to all communicate as to whether or not the meets are running fast or behind schedule to determine if swimmers can make it. Exchange phone numbers with relay and coaches and elect point person for communication if needed.

We do not want a swimmer missing an event at All Stars to swim Ponderosa relay and then they get to Ponderosa only to find out that one of the other swimmers can't make it and now there is not a relay!

Everyone needs to know it's okay if they can't make it to the relay from the other pool. They just need to communicate as much as possible to allow time to find an alternate.
